Birthed in 2004, the Chrysler Crossfire is somewhat of a cross-pollination between America and Germany. The Crossfire was conceived when Daimler (Mercedes' mother company) was in bed with Chrysler many moons ago (Daimler owned Mercedes and Chrysler).
The two-seater shares 80% of its components with the first generation SLK. The 20% non-German components make up the fat American ass. I think the overall shape is a bit strange, its like they have Sellotaped an SLK to a PT cruiser. The Crossfire's party trick is its engine, in 2005 it used a supercharged SRT-6, Mercedes-AMG Engine. Anything AMG related I am a fan of. The 3.2L V6 engine outputs 330 bhp and 310 lb/ft of torque. 0-60 in 4.8 sec and an electronically limited top speed of 155mph isn't too shabby either. All of this for £4K, a different way to drive around in comparison to the standard reliable, drab German alternatives.
