So recently I wrote about the MOT break that the government have put in place. I joked about Boris Johnson paying for car. Since then BoJo has got Corona and my wish sort of came true (not the BoJo getting Corona bit). The government are not paying for car finance but the car companies are providing payment breaks for eligible people. The break will be between 1 and 3 months long.
Most manufacturers are willing to help. VW that customers with financial difficulties could be eligible for a 60 day payment holiday (maybe to make up for the whole dieselgate thing ;)). Ford, Hyundai and Kia also plan to include payment holidays (in the UK anyway). I think the fact that these companies have already put this payment holiday in place will drive other car companies to do the same.
