I recently had a conversation with my dad about cheap cars under 5K. I was surprised to find out that Peugeot RCZ's are in this price bracket (just). I have always thought that the RCZ looked cool, especially with its double bubble roof, but have never paid too much attention to it. This is probably because I am a car brand snob and am wary of the Peugeot bit. But for 5K? I thought a nice one would be in the realm of 8-10K.
Now you cannot get the tasty R version for this price (you're looking at about 13K+ for an R). However, you can get a nicely specced GT with low miles like the one above (I know this one is not under 5K, but you can haggle £200 off, I believe in you 😊) .
Fuel consumption is amazing, at an average of 44mpg. I expected it to be around the 35 mark, but what do I know? 0-60 in 8.3 Seconds is a nice surprise as well, and the annual tax is not a punch in the face either. It is a bit of a shame it’s not RWD, but they are meant to handle well.
The RCZ is different to the standard car you would expect to get for £5K, and will definitely turn a few heads. I would definitely consider buying one if I had the cash, but a very attainable motor.
