I like to think I am a bit of a car aficionado, I play a sad little game with myself where I name every car that comes the other way on the motorway. However, when I first watched the opening sequence to Kanye West's "Runaway" film I didn't have the foggiest idea what he was driving.

Rappers are well known for driving Ferrari's, Lamborghini's and Porsche's, but not really Tatra's. Tatra is a Czech brand that started in 1850 as a truck company, they decided to start making cars in 1897. So Tatra actually has more heritage than Ferrari (started in 1939), who would have thought it.
Here she is, the Tatra MTX V8. I think its beautiful, it looks like it shares the lights from a Ferrari Testarossa, and the body shape of an XJ220. Now I am not being 100% honest when I say its a Tatra, it has a Tatra air-cooled V8 engine in the rear, but they weren't built by them. They were built by a small manufacturer called MTX, hence the name Tatra MTX V8.
Now because its Kanye West, a Czech exotic that no one has ever heard of is not enough, so he had to go and get the rarer 1993 mid-engine V8 version. It can do 0-60 in 5.7 seconds, outputs 220bhp and has a top speed of 153mph. Now if we are being honest, the average modern saloon can keep up with this thing, but not too bad for 1993. I thank Kanye for introducing this car to me, it certainly is out of the ordinary. Now go watch Runaway!
