The Death Of Petrol Cars....

Updated: Feb 15, 2020

As you may have guessed I am a big fan of petrol cars (hence why I named this website after petrol). The sound of a high revving petrol car is incomparable to anything else in this hopeless world, as is the smell of course. This may all change very soon though, the government may ban the sale of petrol and diesel cars by 2032, three years earlier than suggested last week, the transport secretary has said. It was 2035 last week, if its 3 years a week then in 3 weeks it will be projected 2023 (I strongly hope this is not the case). Now, I am not one to argue *cough* and I do appreciate that we need to save the planet, but Jesus Christ you can't just take away my favourite thing.

Luckily no one will argue against me, because no one reads the blogs, but I think the solution shouldn't just be "ban petrol and diesel cars by 2032". Electric cars still need fossil fuels to be built, I believe we should start with the energy consumption and efficiency of the factories and move towards cars, cut it off at the source rather than with the end product (I may be wrong here, but that is how I feel so leave me alone). I may take a leaf out of Clarkson's book and buy all the exciting cars I can in 2032, or I will just be driving around in a 30 year old petrol car and pay extraordinary amounts of money for road tax. Also "Smell Of Electric" doesn't really have the same ring to it, and the only time I actually "smell electric" its normally a frazzled PCB and somethings gone terribly wrong.
