The Forgotten Sports Car....

Updated: Jan 7, 2020

Or at least I have forgotten about it, what was it again? Oh yeah the Dodge Viper (I actually had to come back because I couldn't remember what I meant to write about), they haven't made one in a while so we shall blame it on that. The last Viper rolled off the line in 2017, so its been 3 years! Although this is true, 5 were sold in 2019, so they must still have them hanging around dodge show rooms (to be fair I would walk right past one to get in a Dodge Hellcat).

The only picture I could get for free has this man on it, fair play to him for getting a viper, shame about the sockless boat shoe combo.

The Viper is an American icon. It's just as well respected in suburban California as it is in the deep south. The specs depend on the vintage of Viper you are talking of. The 2017 ACR is the flagship so here you go; 645bhp at 6200rpm, V10 8.4L. Being an American car with an 8.4L engine means it is not going to hold any fuel economy records, you will be lucky to get 14mpg (*gags*). What's crazy is the fact that I am really struggling to find the top speed and 0-60 times of the car, I guess that's testament to Americans only caring about how big your engine is and how much horsepower it creates.

I don't want to make this a roast of American cars, but they aren't well known for cornering. However, the ACR is different, it is a track weapon and is especially good at handling, it does have a giant rear wing though.

There is a rumour floating around, suggesting that the Dodge Viper might be returning in 2021.
